Michael Mityok
President
BA & BEd. Writer, founder of ACE Education Group, 25+ years as an educator and education entrepreneur with a proven ability for delivering exceptional pedagogical and curricular results. Michael has gained extensive founder experience building and managing ACE, which now has over 300 students.
Yun Feng
Treasurer
MBA & CFP. 20 years of consulting experience in management and finance across China, the US, and Canada. Since immigrating to Canada in 2009, she has established Vancouver as her home base, where she channels her expertise into financial planning as a co-founder and partner at Yunix Financial Group, specializing in tax optimization and asset allocation for high-income business owners and high-net-worth professionals and immigrant families. Avid reader and seasoned traveler with a global perspective.
Harmeet Singh

As Principal Group Program Manager at Microsoft, Harmeet brings a wealth of expertise cultivated over 25 years in IT. Extensive, diverse leadership and executive positions, consistently prioritizing strategy and innovation. Acknowledged for dynamic leadership style and unwavering focus on delivering results, seamlessly integrating a deep understanding of both functional and technical domains.
Adam Han
Director of Fundraising
Adam is an experienced debater who has been participating at a competitive level for over 8 years. He has won many speaker and team awards at international tournaments such as Harvard, Princeton, Georgetown, and the Tournament of Champions. Adam first heard about debate at a seminar and decided to pursue it further. From debate, he has learned to think more critically, to write more effectively, to speak more convincingly, and to pay more attention to the world around him. Adam is the founder of Youth Debate League, a nonprofit organization promoting debate accessibility by teaching it free of charge. He will be attending Harvard College in the fall and hopes to use his new knowledge and experiences to further the spread of debate education.
Owen Kan
Co-Director of Youth Program
A grade 10 at Port Moody Secondary, Owen is thrilled to serve as the Co-director of the Youth Program at IDEA. Starting debate only several years ago, Owen has been enthralled by the controlled chaos and complex scheming of debating. In the past decade, he has broken finals at several prestigious tournaments, including the Stanford Open in 2025. Outside of debating, mun, mock trials, and essay competitions, Owen can be found binging tv shows from the 2000s, playing guitar, or making short films outside.
